If you are an experienced software engineer (5+ years) who wants to take the leading technical position in a highly ambitious startup (complex coding challenge + big payday if successful), then you are interested in this job.
Our goal is to become the layer of interaction between shopper’s social networks and e-commerce sites, kind of like a Yelp for consumer products. Wireframes have been designed, but the tech co-founder’s input is expected.
Requirements:
Technical Co-founder will architect and develop the website, build an engineering team, and lead all technical aspects of the company throughout its growth. The most important qualities for this position:
• Love of software engineering, as well as math/science in general. Interest in the humanities is an added bonus.
• High creativity (if you like thinking inside the box, please don’t bother me).
• Curiosity. The challenge of building a complex system should be a reward in itself (though, if we are successful, there will be other rewards as well).
• Coding talent (obviously). On a scale of 1-10, where Sergei Brin is a 10, at least a 9.
• Exceptional leadership ability. Coding is great for building a product (and you’ll get to do a lot of that), but leadership is key for building a company.
• (Super) High energy. If you don’t love working around the clock (like me), this probably isn’t for you (nor are most startups).
• Golden personality (pretend this is a dating classified).
Bonuses:
• Experience in e-commerce or social networking.
• Worked at Google.
• Sense of humor.
